NHS Supply Chain chooses GreenValet biohazard spill kits

18th April 2007. Ware, Hertfordshire.

GreenValet, a leading independent supplier of cleaning disposables and information systems for facilities managers, today announced an agreement with NHS Supply Chain to distribute biohazard spill kits. The agreement means biohazard spill kits will be available direct from NHS Supply Chain for the first time.

"GreenValet have supplied biohazard spill kits to facilities managers for a number of years." said Catherine Pegna, Director of Business Development at GreenValet. "This agreement will greatly increase their availability in the NHS and make ordering and delivery easier for many Trusts. We are honoured to have been selected as the exclusive supplier of biohazard spill kits to the NHS."

This is the first time NHS Supply Chain have offered a complete biohazard spill kit. "Biohazard spill kits offer an efficient and convenient solution to a problem faced by all NHS Trusts." said Chris Graham, Category Manager at NHS Supply Chain. "Kits keep specialised biohazard cleaning materials together in the places where they are most likely to be needed and are an important addition to our product range."

The new GreenValet biohazard spill kits include a number of enhancements specially developed for NHS Supply Chain. These include a new lightweight storage case which is, for the first time, wall mountable. New kits also include updated wall posters and instructions.

GreenValet biohazard spill kits are included in the new Spring edition of the NHS Supply Chain catalogue, published this week.

Note to editors

Biohazard spill kits enable non-specialist staff  to deal with emergencies involving spillages of blood, vomit, urine and other unpleasant and potentially hazardous fluids, while minimising exposure and risk for staff and the public. Kits include tools, specialised cleaning and infection control agents and personal protective equipment (PPE) to enable rapid clean up of the spill area and safe, hygienic disposal.
